The doctor, who has known the family for 30 years, says she's in horrible shape, living in a very detrimental environment, and needs to be hospitalized for treatment.
The family says that's the most ridiculous thing they've ever heard - she's fine.
What the hell are you supposed to do????
You take it one day at a time.
ReplyDeleteMy FIL was out of it, for the most part, for three years. We hired round the clock home care for him so he could stay at home as long as he could. When it became too much for them, we had to take him to the hospital.
In these kinds of situations, you just do what you can. If you can go see her, then do that. If you can't, then you have to make peace within yourself and trust that the rest of her loved ones will do right by her.
It's all you can do. Hold on. Big hugs to you, I know exactly what you're going through.
I'm glad you contacted the doctor, but have no idea what you can do now. Probably Rox has the best advice. I have no experience with this.
ReplyDeleteWould you believe a 'Fine' diagnosis from an uneducated family, right after being told that your mother was asking who the bride is in your 6-week old photos, or thinking that she's in England about to have tea with your long-dead grandmother????
